1 — Start the day at Niwa, in the 7th, housed in a Belle Époque bakery dating back to 1911. We recommend the most delicious pain au chocolat, eat it warm and stay for the interiors.
2 — For a long lunch, La Méditerranée on Place de l’Odéon has a history worth lingering over. Cocteau drew the logo, Bérard painted the dining-room murals, and the Prix Médicis is presented here each year.
3 — Until the end of January, the Musée d’Orsay is showing A Statue for Liberty, a virtual reality journey from Bartholdi’s first idea in 1865 to the unveiling in New York in 1886. You also stand inside the vanished Paris foundry where the statue was made. Book ahead, and pair it with the Bartholdi exhibition.
